As the faculty chaperone on a number of trips to DC, I was always disappointed by how little the students got out of the museum component of their DC trips. It seemed to me that museums, with their kaleidoscope of historical periods and ideas, were the ultimate learning venue, overflowing with image, sound, video, and text. With that in mind, I created Museum Exploration Partners to help students immerse themselves in these remarkable, multi-media learning institutions.
Museum Exploration Partners are experts in Holocaust studies. Let us lead your students in a profound experience of active learning, as we help you bring the US Holocaust Memorial Museum to life. Students will realize how personal history is as they imagine themselves in the roles of victim, bystander, resister, and perpetrator. And they will be inspired by their own responsibility as they reflect repeatedly on the importance of empathy, ethics, and individual choices. My goal is to inspire every student to walk out of this museum committed to making the world a better place. For a fuller description, go to the Explorations USHMM page.Or
Celebrate Middle Eastern, Indian, and Asian art in the stunningly beautiful environment of the Freer & Sackler Gallery. Students will learn how to “see” and unpack art, explore the virtues of artistic diversity, and uncover common cultural values. When students leave the museum, I hope we will have inspired them with curiosity and a deep appreciation of the beauty and diversity of world culture. For a fuller description, go to the Explorations Freer page.
